🐾 Dastardly Dog Rules – How to Play 🐾

A fast-paced, silly, sabotage-filled race to the Winner’s Bone! For 2–8 players, ages 7+.

🎲 SETUP:

1. Remove all Player cards and the Winner’s Bone card.

2. Place 10 cards face-down in a straight line — these are called Yards.

3. Put the Winner’s Bone card face-up at the end (it does not count as a Yard).

4. Each player:

   • Chooses a dog token.

   • Draws 3 cards.

5. Place the rest of the cards in a draw pile.

6. If the draw pile runs out, reshuffle the discard pile and continue.

🌿 YARDS:

• These are the face-down spaces you move across.

• When you land on one, flip it over:

  • Green border = Safe. Stay where you are.

  • Red border = Hazard! Follow its effect (usually move back), then the hazard becomes safe and stays green.

🐶 WHO GOES FIRST?

• The last game’s winner goes first (the “Dastardly Dog”).

• If unknown, the youngest player starts.

• Play goes clockwise.

▶️ HOW TO PLAY:

On your turn:

1. Play 1 card from your hand (to move or attack).

2. Draw a card to end your turn.

3. Always have 3 cards in hand. If not, draw up to 3 before your next move.

🟢 MOVING FORWARD:

• Play a Green-bordered card to move 1–3 spaces forward.

• You can’t move past the next face-down Yard. Stop there and flip it.

🔴 ATTACKING:

• Red-bordered cards are attacks!

• Use them to slow down other dogs.

• Only a Dog Trainer card can block attacks.

⏩ SKIP A SPACE:

• Some cards let you skip a Yard entirely (including face-down ones).

• BUT — if you’re knocked back to an unflipped Yard, you must flip it and accept the outcome.

• Pro tip: You can skip the final Yard and go straight to the Winner’s Bone—but only with a Skip card!

🎓 DOG TRAINER CARD:

• This is your wild card!

• Can be played anytime, even on someone else’s turn.

• Use it to block a Move, Attack, Hazard, or even another Dog Trainer!

• You can also play it on your turn to move forward 1 space.

🐕‍🦺 WOOF RULE:

• When you land on the last Yard, flip it:

  • If it’s red, follow the hazard and move back.

  • If it’s green, shout “Woof!” and stay put.

• You’ll need one more Move card to reach the Winner’s Bone.

• If you forget to say “Woof!” and someone else shouts it first, you go all the way back to Yard #1. 😱

🕵️ SECRET RULE: SNEAK ATTACK

• If the last Yard is already face-up and green, and you have a move card to reach the Winner’s Bone…

• You don’t have to say “Woof!”—just go for it!

• This is a Sneak Attack—unless someone plays a Dog Trainer card to block your win!
